Auburn wrestling great helps others reach goals in Denver

Terry Griffis, the greatest wrestler in Auburn history, is a health and wellness trainer at the Colorado Athletic Club in Denver.

At Auburn, Griffis was a three-time NIC-9 wrestling champion and three-time IHSA state qualifier at 189 pounds and heavyweight. He was 88-17 over his sophomore, junior and senior seasons. He also was a first team All-NIC-9 defensive end his senior year.

After Auburn, Griffis played football at Eastern Illinois University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in 2001 in health sciences.

Terry, who is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association, has been a personal trainer in the Denver area since 2001.
