Eisenhower dominates All City Cross Country meet

ROCKFORD – The Eisenhower Eagles won both the boys and girls championships in convincing fashion in Tuesday’s All City Cross Country Meet.

Eisenhower had four of the top five finishers in both races.

In the girls race, Eisenhower took the top four spots. Madalyn Hefty ran the 1.9-mile race in 12:22 to edge Madison Harmsen by two seconds.  Lena Andrews came in at 12:26 and Hanna Holmes at 12:29. Harmsen and Andrews actually are Montessori students who run with Eisenhower. 

Marshall’s Ekaternia Dmitriev was fifth at 12:49. Sixty-six runners took part.

In the boys race, Eisenhower claimed the top two spots. Brandon Lawson ran the 1.9-mile course in 10:56, while Jackson Hefty was next with 11:11. Marshall’s Anthony Fulbright was next followed by Eisenhower runners Landon Bachta and Gavin Osbourne.
