Guilford leads strong golf contingent into conference meet

Guilford’s boys golf team had a strong run of match play in the NIC-10 this fall, finishing second with an 8-1 record.

Connor Knuth led the way for the Vikings with a 40.1 average per nine holes. That was good for third in the conference. Andrew Carey, with a 40.2 average, and Luke Grall, 41.0, were fifth and sixth.

East and Auburn had solid showings as well. The E-Rabs tied for fourth with a 5-4 mark and Auburn was 4-5.

East’s Ben Bathje topped the E-Rabs by finishing ninth individually with a 41.2 average. Auburn’s top golfer was Nolan Silva, who tied for 10th with a 41.3.

The NIC-10 conference championship will take place on Oct. 2-3.
